風舎byFUSHATHÉの新店舗のデザインのお話しをいただいたときに、紅茶屋ならではの素材を提案できないかと考えた。セイロンティーで有名なスリランカで紅茶茶葉を勉強していくうちに、生産量のおよそ３割の茶葉が廃棄されると知り、未使用の茶葉を使用しアップサイクルしたボード素材を提案したいと思った。
茶葉とウッドチップの組み合わせ比率によって濃淡を調整することもできる。
制作は岐阜県でストランドボードを生産している株式会社エスウッドの長田氏に依頼。茶葉提供は風舎byFUSHATHÉのオーナーの野澤氏。立案はmonotrumの石井氏との共同。
Thinking of the design of Fusha by FUSHATHÉ's new store, I thought it would be possible to propose materials unique to a tea shop.
While studying black tea leaves in Sri Lanka, I learned that approximately 30% of the tea leaves produced are discarded, so I wanted to propose a board material made from upcycled tea leaves.
The production was by Mr. Nagata of S-Wood Co., Ltd., which produces strand boards in Gifu Prefecture. The tea leaves were provided by Ms. Nozawa, the owner of Fusha by FUSHATHÉ. The project was planned in collaboration with Mr. Ishii of monotrum.
